Privacy Policy

Undertow is made for a private moment. It collects as little as possible, and everything it does keep belongs to you.

What we store

• Your email address and first name, so you can sign in.
• A record of each reset: which one you chose, how you said you felt, how long it lasted, and the time of day.
• The text of a voice note, if you record one, and a few situational tags from it.
• Your subscription status.

What we never store

• Audio. A voice note is sent to our server, turned into text, and the audio is discarded immediately. It is never written to disk or kept in a backup.
• Food, weight, calories, or any body measurement. Undertow does not ask and does not track.
• Contacts, photos, location, or health data.
• Advertising identifiers. There is no advertising and no tracking across apps.

Who else sees it

We do not sell or share your data. Data is processed by services that make the app work: our hosting and database provider, a transcription and tagging provider for voice notes, and a payment provider (Apple or Stripe) that tells us only whether a subscription is active. None of them receive your data for their own purposes.

Deleting your data

The You screen has two controls: delete all note text, or delete your whole history. Both take effect immediately. To delete your account entirely, email us and we will remove everything within 30 days.

Children

Undertow is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Not medical care

Undertow is a self-help tool, not a medical device, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are struggling with an eating disorder, please speak with a qualified professional.
